Wayne and Judi Frerichs Friends of NAU

Dr. Wayne Frerichs and Mrs. Judi Frerichs dedicated their lives to helping others when they entered the field of medicine; Wayne as an otolaryngologist and Judi as a registered nurse. The two met at Wayne's practice in Phoenix and have been happily married for over 27 years. As avid skiers and appreciators of sports and cultural activities, the Frerichs found the university town of Flagstaff to be the perfect oasis for retirement.

Wayne and Judi first became supporters of Northern Arizona University as enthusiastic Lumberjack sports fans. Their deep respect for the gift of education inspired them to invest in the NAU University Honors Program through a charitable gift annuity after talking with the Director, Dr. Wolf Gumerman, and meeting with NAU Honors students.

"To talk with the young adults in the University Honors Program and see how dedicated they are to their studies while giving by back to their community through leadership and service brings Wayne and me great hope for the future," Judi shared.

"It is important to support endowments for these students," Wayne explained, "It increases opportunities for young people passionate about education for generations to come."
